This pop-up aimed to convey technological expertise behind an iconic beauty product via clever interior and architectural design.
The first ever Pond’s Institute in the Philippines was a pop-up structure that stood for three months in the middle of Bonifacio Global City’s High Street shopping complex. It was conceptualized, designed and built by Grupo Santamaria and The Gold Team PH headed by James Razo, in collaboration with Architect Mikko Yap and Landscape Architect Abby Abiol.Because it was temporary, we had to build around the existing trees and lamp posts without bolting onto anything, and yet it had to be structurally safe. It also had to withstand rain, wind, and other forces of nature that could befall it during its operation. Fully air conditioned with automatic sliding doors, this was a minimalist structure that was bold and straightforward in branding but also blended seamlessly into its surroundings.
